Shruti Hassan is making her mark in the Global Entertainment Industry, after her International debut in an American series ‘Treadstone’ and being the voice actor in International Audio Drama Sandman: Act II, she is now starting her shoot for the psychological thriller ‘The Eye’.

Hassan is also rumoured to be seen in filmmaker Prashanth Neel’s upcoming directorial “Salaar” co-starring Prabhas.
This Dark psychological thriller also stars Mark Rowley of ‘The Last Kingdom’ fame opposite Shruti. Production has already started and the Shooting begins later this month in Greece, specifically in Athens and Corfu.
Directed by Daphne Schmon and screenplay by Emily Carlton, The Eye is set in 1980 when a young widow returns to the island where her husband deceased to spread his ashes. However, when she learns what could’ve happened to his life, she considers a dark choice that might bring him back.
The psychological thriller also has a star cast of British actress Anna Savva (The Durrels), Australian actress Linda Marlowe (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), and Greek actor Christos Stergioglou (Dogtooth).
Producer Melanie dicks said: “Kicking our slate off with an exciting debut feature for Daphne Schmon and Emily Carlton, The Eye is the culmination of four years of collaboration, an ambitious and hugely exciting period piece. We have an incredible team, with a strong stakeholder and production group. It’s an extraordinary project to launch with.”
Also, Shruti Haasan added: “It has always been my dream to share stories through music, words, and the visual medium of cinema. The concept of widening that net and being able to do that globally is beyond exciting – it’s so wonderful to be a part of such a wonderful team – that too led by incredibly talented women is something that is extra special! It’s a beautiful story and I’m so honoured to share it with people.”
This is a Fingerprint Production movie and alongside it is the co-producer, the Greek production company named Argonauts Production. Argonauts Productions was founded in 2003 by producer Panos Papahadzis, since then it has produced over 50 feature films, international co-productions, and TV series.
Fingerprint Production also announced that it is partnering with sustainability consultancy ‘Greenshoot’ to deliver a two-year program to share knowledge with the greek screen industries on sustainable development and best practices for the same.
The company Greenshoot helps creative industries with environmental sustainability and precautions related to climate change. They have helped more than 1500 productions in 26 countries since 2009.
Fingerprint Productions was launched with the goal of committing to sustainable production practices starting from scripts all the way to the screens. Former US secretary of state and special presidential delegate for climate John Kerry is a founding partner and advisor.
