The 76th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) were held on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the Royal Festival Hall in London. The who’s who of the entertainment industry and British royalty were seen in attendance. The British Academy of Film and Television Awards are held annually.
The big winners at the 2023 EE BAFTA Film Awards included the German film All Quiet on the Western Front, which took home seven trophies! The much-talked-about British film of this year, The Banshees of Inisherin also won some awards.
Cate Blanchett is the favorite to win all Best Actress awards this year for her dazzling performance in TÁR, and she took home the BAFTA for the same. She plays Lydia Tár, a renowned but controversial music conductor. The film is NOT a biopic. Austin Butler won the Best Actor BAFTA for Elvis, for his portrayal of the famous singer the late Elvis Presley in the Baz Luhrmann film.
