Starring Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter, and Siddhant Chaturvedi, Phone Bhoot is a comedy horror film released on Friday, 5th November. Directed by Gurmmeet Singh of Mirzapur fame, the film is produced under Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s banner Excel Entertainment.
Phone Bhoot’s release clashed with two other Bollywood releases: Janhvi Kapoor’s Mili and Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi’s Double XL. But both performed lower than Katrina’s film.
Phone Bhoot Box Office Collection
On Day 1, the film opened at ₹ 2.05 cr. For the film starring Katrina, the box office collection is low. The horror-comedy flick beat the other two films: Mili and Double XL as they collected even low at the box office.
Taran Adarsh, the film critic, and trade analyst tweeted:
Box office India reported, “The main release this week was Phone Booth and it opened to a dull 5-10% response with a decent release of 1300-1400 screens. The opening is low and the other problem for the film is that this genre does not grow like a concept drama. It will need huge growth on Saturday to stand a chance at the box office. The only plus can be is that opened better than the competition of Mili and Double XL but that is not much of an achievement as those films opened to horrible collections with Mili being the better of the two.”
Day 2 saw a sight growth of 34.15% on the box office collection. The film, which was screened roughly in 1400 theatres, earned ₹ 2.75 crores on Saturday. But according to Taran Adarsh, Day 3 will be tough because of India vs. Zimbabwe cricket match.
There are other issues affecting the box office collection of the film. Reports say that on Friday, Phone Bhoot has fallen prey to piracy. It has been reported, that the movie has been leaked in HD by Tamilrockers. The film is said to be available on Telegram and other torrent sites.

The ghost, played by Katrina, offers the ghost hunters, played by Siddhant and Ishaan a successful business idea. Soon things changes as the ghost reveal her plan. The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Sheeba Chadha, Nidhi Bisht, and Manu Rishi Chadha.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh film, who is well-known for Mirzapur, this film has done fairly well and received mixed reviews from critics.
Katrina Kaif’s Phone Bhoot was released on Friday on around 1400 screens. Also starring Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi, the horror-comedy managed to earn Rs 2 crore on its first day. As per reports, Phone Bhoot failed to see positive growth on Saturday, as it collected about Rs 2.5 crore on day 2, bringing the total to a disappointing Rs 4.5 crore.
According to Pinkvilla, the Katrina Kaif-starrer saw a low 25 percent growth on its next day. And while it is expected that the film might see a rise on Sunday, the numbers will not be steep enough to make a dent at the ticket counter. Based on the trend, the film is touted to do just a little over Rs 10 crore nett in its first week. Given Katrina Kaif’s past record, it’s safe to say that the numbers are not at all promising.
