A person with zero knowledge of science also knows the importance of a healthy brain. Despite this, humans tend to disregard and not consider the psychological factors like melancholy and uneasiness as an essential component to ruin your mental health. We must be aware that ignorance of these conditions can often pose higher risks to our neurological system and can even deprive us of clarity and sufficient brainpower. You may have experienced ‘brain fog’ if you have struggled with thinking and have suffered from depression. Brain fog is characterized by a collection of systems that cause foggy thinking and result in impaired mental health.

According to Sabina Brennan’s recently published book “Beating Brain Fog,” about 600 million people worldwide suffer from cognitive dysfunction.

In a severe medical condition, brain fog has been defined as dysfunction that can disrupt the proper functioning of our central nervous system. It can affect or interrupt our cognitive abilities, ultimately leading to mental fatigue and confusion. In addition, it can cause concentration problems, memory issues, and a lack of clarity of thought which can make it challenging to make an informed decision.

Insufficient sleep always leads to poor brain functions. It declines your intellectual power and decreases or takes away the ability to concentrate. Hence, it is essential to have 8 to 9 hours of proper sleep.

Anxiety and stress- anxiety and stress weaken a person’s physical, mental, and emotional health, affecting their immune system and their mental health. It could be the primary reason for brain fog.

Our body’s health greatly depends on the diet we consume, and the kind of food we eat directly helps our brain function. Consuming a diet rich in vitamin B12 helps to keep your brain healthy.

Hormonal changes

Fluctuations in the level of hormones in the body can affect memory and cause short-term cognitive impairments. Sources say that a drop in estrogen level in women can affect their brain health.

Effects of medicines

There are many side effects of various medications. Hence, it is vital to consult a doctor before taking any medicine.

In a recent study by medRxiv, it was found that approximately 58% of patients suffering from severe diseases or disorders reported signs of brain fog or mental confusion, which is now considered a significant condition in the list of severe illnesses as a prominent symptom. Many analysts attribute it to the strong medication required to cure that health-related issue.

Even though many people recover from the disease and illnesses and its post effects, including brain fog, it is always advisable to stay in touch with your doctor and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
