Facebook is a very popular American social media platform that was founded in 2004 and is owned by the new name Infinity Meta or Meta platforms. This was achieved by the very famous Mark Zuckerberg with the help of Harvard college students who are Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes.
IT’S NAME
The name was given from the directories of Facebook that were given to American university students.
MEMBERSHIP
Facebook’s membership was at the first given to Harvard students only. Furthermore, it expanded to other North American universities and this was recorded in 2006 for any person who is above 13 years of age. As in if we see the previous data, Facebook was the most downloaded application on mobile. It even ranked 7th in the terms of global internet usage. Facebook has had 2.85 billion monthly active users across the globe as of 2021.
2. INSTAGRAM
INTRODUCTION
It is an American video, photo, and interesting reels sharing social media site. This application enables users to share their edited, beautified photos and videos with different interesting and peculiar filters. It also gives privacy options so that you can be sure who views your posts and who wants to follow you. You can make your identity private or public so that it is in your hands to decide who can see your identity and who does not.
FOUNDER

Founded by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. It was launched for iOS originally in the year 2010 October. It gained popularity very soon with a million users registered in a time of only 2 months. Though the android version of it was released in April in the year 2012, the registered user count didn’t stop here it grew to almost 10 million in just a year. Similarly in the coming years, it was launched for desktops and in windows 10 as an application.
IMPACT
It was known to encourage negative values rather than negative behavior because of the bad influence it had on a teen’s mental condition, behavior with parents, and other people too. It also had different allegations after a while and those were of censorship, illegal or inappropriate content, and different interface changes that happened frequently.
IT’S FEATURES
It was at the first designed in a way that allowed the content to appear in a square frame that is of 1:1 ratio, with a total of 640 pixels to display the content. But as soon as technology developed it increased to 1080 pixels. It included features like messaging, posting, sharing content, and videos related to so many different topics.
3. YOUTUBE
INTRODUCTION
It is also an American video-sharing and social media platform online. It is owned by Google. It is also the second most visited website just after Google. It has a billion users monthly who watch almost more than a billion videos watched daily on average. Even the online content, the videos were updated at a rate of 500 hours of content per minute.
FOUNDER

Developed by Jawed Karim, Chad Hurley, and Steve Chen. It is owned by Google. In October Youtube was bought by Google for a huge amount of $ 1.65 billion. It offers paid content opportunities for so many content makers. It makes revenue from ads, paid content, movie streaming, and exclusive content. It got transformed from a small video streaming platform to an application that streams videos, movies, and a lot of content that is unimaginable in quantity.
CONCLUSION
Be it any application from the above 3 all have entertained the audience in their unique way. Hence it is difficult to choose between these apps.
