With schools, colleges, and offices reopening, people are starting to get back to normal times. Due to the pandemic, like every other industrial sector movie theatres were also facing a lot of troubles, going through losses.
The shooting of several films was delayed, which resulted in pushing the release dates further. The producers even thought that their films would not even get a theatrical release. Now with things easing up, movie theatres have started reopening and ardent filmgoers will now be able to enjoy their favorite films on the big screen, reliving the ultimate cinematic experience.
Here’s a listing of the 10 upcoming movies in March 2022, perfect to watch in your free time. Because let’s face it, it’s been a long time since we have collectively cheered in the theatres, for Captain America when he finally wields Mjolnir in Avengers: Endgame. Hopefully, these March releases could bring that same enthusiasm and magic back to the audience.
The Batman
By far the most anticipated film of this year has to be Matt Reeves’ The Batman. After the continuous success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, DC fans were starving for a huge success. With the unexpected success of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, DC Films came back to the scene.
The Batman trailer shows a 30-year old Bruce Wayne in a much noir-Esque backdrop, played by the Twilight star Robert Pattinson. Looking at him you could see that he has come a long way since his debut. The film also stars seasoned actors like Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, John Turturro, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, and Colin Farrell. With a star cast like that along with Matt Reeves’ direction, The Batman is surely going to make heads turn. Scheduled to release on March 4, 2022, it’s going to be a film worth watching.
The Lost City
It is an upcoming American romantic adventure comedy film directed by Aaron Nee and Adam Nee. The story revolves around author Loretta Sage, she writes romance-adventure novels about a hero named Dash Chicvance, played by cover model Alan Caprison. While promoting her new book with Alan, Loretta is kidnapped by Fairfax, who wants her to lead him to the treasure from the lost city mentioned in her latest novel.
The film stars Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Brad Pitt. It is scheduled to release on March 25, 2022, under the banner of Paramount Productions.
RRR
An upcoming Indian period action-drama film directed by S.S. Rajamouli has taken the nation by storm with the release of its epic trailer. Set in 1920, the film explores a fictional story, the undocumented period in the lives of two Indian revolutionaries who choose to go into oblivion before they began their fight for their country.
Starring N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan in lead roles playing Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively. Made on a budget of 400 crores, RRR is scheduled to release on March 25, 2022. The film also stars Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Shriya Saran in supporting roles.
Jhund
Based on the life of Vijay Barse, Jhund is a biographical sports film written and directed by Nagraj Manjule. Produced under the banner of T-Series, the film stars the Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. He plays the role of the founder of NGO Slum Soccer, Vijay Barse. The story revolves around him and how he manages to rehabilitate street kids, keeping them off drugs and crime and turning them into dedicated soccer players, ultimately building a whole team.
The movie will be very inspirational and might as well be a tear-jerker. Also starring Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru in supporting leads the film is all set to release on March 4, 2022.
Radhe Shyam
Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starrer upcoming period romantic drama is considered to be one of the big-budget films of Indian Cinema. Written and directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, the story shows Prabhas as Vikramaditya, a person who can predict the future. He reveals that Prerana played by Pooja Hegde, will die soon but also falls in love with her.
The film will answer the question that why he fell in love with her despite knowing the truth and will he be able to save her by altering fate. The film is scheduled to release on March 11, 2022. Audiences are very much excited to see Prabhas again in action.
Toolsidas Junior
It is an upcoming Hindi sports-drama film directed by Mridul Mahendra. The film is produced under the banner of T-Series and Ashutosh Gowariker Productions. They include Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Ashutosh Gowariker, and Sunita Gowariker. Starring renowned actors like Sanjay Dutt, Rajiv Kapoor, Dalip Tahil, and Varun Buddhadev in the lead role, it is all set to release on March 4, 2022. It marks Rajiv Kapoor’s final and posthumous appearance on the big screen, following his death in February 2021.

It tells the story of the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in the early 1990s due to the Kashmir Insurgency. Starring Bollywood legends like Mithun Chakraborty and Anupam Kher, the film was set to release theatrically on 26 January 2022, harmonizing with India’s Republic Day. Due to the Omicron variant spread, it was delayed and is now scheduled to release on March 11, 2022.
Umma
An upcoming American supernatural horror film, written and directed by Iris K. Shim, stars Killing Eve fame Sandra Oh in the lead role. It is a story about a Korean immigrant, Amanda, and her daughter who live on a rural farm. They raise bees and live without modern technology. One day when Amanda receives the cremated ashes of her estranged mother, it unleashes a violent spirit who intends to take her body for itself. The film also stars Fivel Stewart, Dermot Mulroney, Odeya Rush, MeeWha Alana Lee, and Tom Yi. Sam Raimi is a producer of the film and it is scheduled to be released on March 18, 2022, by Sony Pictures.
The Unbreakable Boy
A story about a young boy with a rare brittle bone disease and autism will lead us through an inspirational journey. He has a joyous worldview and tends to always inspire those around him with his strong and resilient spirit. The film will release on March 18, 2022. Directed by Jon Gunn, under the production companies Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate. The producers include Kevin Downes, Jerilyn Esquibel, Jon Erwin, Andrew Erwin, and Peter Facinelli, who also acts in the film. The leading cast includes DC Films Shazaam fame Zachary Levi and Amy Acker.
Bachchhan Paandey
Finishing the list with Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited action-comedy Bachchhan Paandey. The film revolves around a budding director Myra who wants to make a movie on gangsters. She chooses Bachchan Pandey, a ruthless gangster to be her lead. But her attempts to research him fail as she gets caught for snooping over him. The characters get involved in several shenanigans which take place throughout the film.
All in all, it is a Masala entertainer with foot-tapping songs, slapstick comedy, and badass action. The star of the action-comedy genre, Akshay Kumar’s Bachchhan Paandey will be worth a watch. The film also stars Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Mishra, Pankaj Tripathi, and Prateik Babbar. It is all set to release on March 18, 2022.
