A long weekend is a delight for every office-going individual. One such delight is on its way to the Delhi-NCR residents. The G20 Summit will be taking place in Delhi on the 9th and 10th of September. Keeping this in view, all the schools, colleges, offices, and businesses will remain shut from September 8 to September 10.
While most long weekends are pre-planned, this one came on short notice. And chances are you couldn’t get any time to plan it out. Worry Not! Here is a fun list of things you can do during these days off sans any extra effort.
A long drive for the long weekend
There are a lot of nearby locations you can choose from to make a quick trip. Places like Jaipur, Agra, and their nearby areas can be reached easily by car. While it is about 5 hours of ride to Jaipur, it only takes around 3 hours to reach Agra.
With Janmashtami just gone by, you can also drive to Mathura or Vrindavan to soak in some divinities. These cities are very close to Agra so you can visit both the places for a wholesome long weekend. Even if the hotels are packed, you can choose from many Ashrams to stay in.
Escape to the Hills
Delhi-NCR areas are at a great advantage when it comes to visiting the hills. A lot of hill stations are at a considerably small distance from Delhi. This makes them a top choice for long weekend plans. You can always catch an overnight train to get there. This also saves you from the hassle.
Choose from places like Lansdowne, Kasauli, Mussoorie, and many more. They are a good choice as you can easily plan a 2-day/1-night trip there. Make sure to look into hotels and homestays ahead of your trip. Else, you can rent a tent.
Stay at Home and Relax
This is a very underrated idea, but it is the best. A long weekend is a rather rare phenomenon. So, when it occurs, make sure to savor every bit of it. All the restaurants, cafes, bars, and clubs around you won’t be open. Take it as a hint from above and stay in.
While you stay in, there is still a lot you can do. Have a look.
- Catch up on the book, crochet, or any activity you left halfway in.
- Clean the cupboards you have been planning to since a long.
- Grab some snacks and binge-watch a movie or series.
- Be a couch potato and do nothing.
We know the long weekend is precious and you want to make the most of it. But do not overdo it. Remember, once it is over you still have an office to go back to.
