Ivana Trump, the first wife of Donald Trump, died on Thursday, July 14, and the former president informed the news on his social media. The New York Police Department was called to the Upper East Side of Manhattan in the afternoon for a report of an unconscious person, who was later pronounced dead by EMS. The police later confirmed that the person was Ivana Trump.
Her children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric, added in their statement how sad they felt with the passing of their beloved mother.
About Ivana Trump
She was born in Czechoslovakia and later moved to Canada and then to the United States. She was a ski racer and a model. She married Donald Trump in 1977, and in that very year, they welcomed their first child, Donald Jr.
She handled some of her husband’s business ventures and also became the CEO at Trump’s Castle, and one of his hotel casinos in Atlantic City. She was also in charge of managing the design of the Grand Hyatt Hotel. She was often called a workaholic as she was very determined in the work that she handled alongside her husband.
After her divorce, she invested in a lot of real estates, domestically and in Europe, and also developed a clothing, jewelry, and beauty products line.
Ivana was also the author of many books, including her most recent one, ‘Raising Trump’. The book came out in 2017 which is an autobiography where she talks about her childhood and what it was like to raise kids with Donald Trump. Some of the other titles include ‘The Best Is Yet To Come’, and ‘Coping With Divorce And Enjoying Life Again’. Not only was she an author but also a writer of the advice column in ‘Globe’.
As an actor, Ivana was only seen in the 1996 film, ‘The First Wives Club’, where she made a cameo appearance.
Her Marriage
Before marrying Donald Trump, she was married to an Austrian ski instructor, Alfred Winklmayr. The marriage was dissolved in 1973. She talked about this marriage by calling it a ‘Cold War Marriage’, and added that the two never lived together.
After her divorce, she moved to Canada, where she worked as a ski instructor. Through which she met Donald Trump in New York. Soon after their first meeting, they were married.
In the late 1980s, their marriage was targeted as there were rumors of Donald Trump dating Marla Maples. Time and again the couple was seen fighting and arguing in public. Reportedly, the former president locked Ivana out of her office at the Plaza Hotel. And in 1990, they got divorced on the grounds of inhumane treatment by Donald Trump. At the time, she also accused him of rape, but later said she didn’t mean it literally. However, the two had been on good terms in recent years.
In 1995, she married an Italian businessman, Ricciardo Mazzucchelli, but the marriage lasted for two years. She married Rossano Rubicondi, an Italian actor in 2008, but after a year they got divorced.
Even after their split, Ivana and Donald were seen together and she actively participated in his presidential campaigns.
