The well-known American stand-up comedian, Jak Knight died on Thursday in Los Angeles. The family confirmed his death on Friday night, and have asked for privacy regarding the cause of death.
About Jak Knight
Born on November 8, 1993, in Seattle, Washington, Jak Knight began his career on the internet by posting comedy videos. In an interview, he mentioned who inspired him to which he answered Dave Chappelle. He became a standup comedian and also worked as a writer in many well-known shows. Not only was he behind the camera, but he also acted in his show, Bust Down, and also did a few voiceovers.

Best known for his show, Bust Down, Jak Knight was a standup comedian, writer, and actor. In the early years of his career, he was a writer for the 2013 Fox animated series Lucas Bros. He was also the executive story editor of a season of black-ish and also wrote the comedy series called Immoral Compass. Knight became popular for the number of roles he played in the making of the Netflix animated series Big Mouth including the role of producer, staff editor, and story editor. He was the voice for the character DeVon in the show. Later, he also voiced in the video game NBA 2K17 and American Dad.
As a stand-up comedian, Knight was named the Comedy Central Comic To Watch in 2014, and at the 2015 Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, he was named the New Face. In 2018, he also appeared on the Netflix special, The Comedy Lineup. At the Oddball Comedy Festival in 2015, Jak Knight was seen performing on the main stage. He opened for many other standups like Joel McHale, Eric Andre, Moshe Kasher, and Dave Chappelle.
Jak Knight’s latest work includes Peacock’s comedy series Bust Down, which he co-created with Jay, Langston Kerman, and Chris Redd. The show premiered in March. All the co-creators also starred in the series. Jak Knight was also the executive producer of the series and the writer for two of its episodes.
In his producing career, he produced Pause With Sam Jay, a late-night show which was hosted by the comedian Jay.
Jak had recently wrapped filming his first film credit, First Time Female Director. The film is Chelsea Peretti’s debut directorial.
