The Aquaman star, Jason Momoa, shared this news while speaking to Entertainment Tonight Canada during the press tour for Slumberland. He addressed Gunn and Safran’s hiring and strongly hinted that he has a dream project coming to a reality.
Warner Bros. Discovery has tapped new leaders of DC and none other than The Suicide Squad Director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran. DC studio is a new division at WB Discovery that’ll oversee DC’s film, TV, and other projects. It was announced at the end of October that Gunn and Safran would assume the roles of co-CEO of DC Studios starting November 1.
“I think with Peter Safran and Mr. Gunn at the helm now of DC — very excited about that — there’s a lot of cool things that are gonna be coming up, and one of my dreams come true will be happening under their watch. So, stay tuned,” teased the Aquaman star.
What is going on?

While chatting with ET Canada’s Carlos Bustamante, Jason Momoa and Marlow Barkley share their worst recurring dream as they talk about ‘Slumberland’. Being a bit candid, Momoa went on about how his best-ever dream is on the way to becoming true. With James Gunn and Peter Safran becoming co-CEO of the DC Films division, the star teased his dream project and asked his fans to “stay tuned.”
Something is definitely on the way. On November 6, Jason’s “greatest news of his life just happened.” Who is his “maestro”? But it is enormous! The thrill and the secrecy behind it, are hinting at the massive news.
“Some of the greatest news in my life just happened…”
Who does Jason Momoa have THIS much love for? Whom would he be calling “maestro”? 🤔🧐
Remember, remember the 6th of November. Stay tuned… #NewDCU #RestoreTheSnyderVerse Tweeted The Nu Geekz on November 7th.
There are multiple possibilities. The most obvious and prominent one is a new Justice League movie. Or, a new project focused on Aquaman centered on popular comic series such as The Trench, The Triton Saga, or Sword Of Atlantis.
But evidently, there is a strong hint about the alien mercenary and bounty hunter Lobo. James Gunn’s first Mastodon post came with a picture of Lobo. This could potentially be a big hint.
As for the DC studio films, Gunn will be looking at the creative side of the studio, while Safran will be
handling the business and production elements. Gunn will continue to direct projects exclusively for DC studio films.
