Madhuri Dixit recently debuted in the OTT platform with Netflix’s new drama series The Fame Game. The actress is known for her strong roles in movies like Mrityudand, Khalnayak, Lajja, Beta, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Raja, Devdas, Anjaam, and many more. She has been a role model for young girls everywhere. Her talent and hard work led her to be considered as one of the number one stars in the Hindi film industry.

Previously named Finding Anamika, the story is based on the life of superstar Anamika Anand played by Dixit herself. She has a glamorous career, but mundane personal life. Physically and verbally abused by her husband, manipulated by her mother-in-law, and ignored by her kids, she finds peace only in her ex-lover.
But the sudden disappearance of the starlet reveals her personal life in the media, after this a chaotic search begins to find her and the person responsible for her disappearance. The more the story progresses the deepest and darkest secrets gradually start to get reveal themselves.
The series is directed by Bejoy Nambiar and Karishma Kohli under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The series is a creation of Sri Rao. Starring Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Kapoor, and Manav Kaul in lead roles with Suhasini Mulay, Lakshvir Saran, and Muskkaan Jaferi in supporting roles, this is a must-watch for all Bollywood fans.
The series got 11.6 million views on Netflix, beating Minnal Murali, Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein, Haseen Dillruba and Dhamaka. Madhuri Dixit came back and thrilled the audience with her performance range. Released on February 25, 2022, it is now among the top 10 web series on Netflix.
It is being reported that The Fame Game is trending at no. 1 in the Indian content on Netflix leaving behind Tovino Thomas’s superhero movie Minnal Murali. The Fame Game garnered all this viewership in just the first week, of its release. It emerged as the most viewed content in India.
As reports from a media website Bollywood Hungama, The Fame Game is maintaining its position in number 6 on the Global Top 10 list on Netflix. On the first-week viewership, it has managed to cross Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin’s Loop Lapeta which had 2.4 million views, Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein with 11.2 million views, and Raveena Tandon’s cop drama Aranyak with 10.3 million views.
The series consisted of eight episodes and received positive reviews from the critics as well. The series also spoke openly about gender bias, ageism, sexism, equality, dysfunctional relationships, extra-marital affairs, domestic abuse, recklessness, and much more. The story provides a depiction of troubling human emotions and how different it is for everybody. The characters are given a proper back story to justify their actions as they took place in the story. Also keeping the Bollywood glamour alive, they have also incorporated item songs showcasing Dixit’s skills as a dancer. She was also accompanied by actors like Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, and Ishaan Khattar who danced along with her, mixing the perfect Bollywood masala in it.
