PBKS vs LSG Match 42: Lucknow’s bowling has been outstanding, as they have once again managed to protect a target. The key for them was to pick wickets, which they accomplished.
They had to wait for the first one, but they continued to have breakthroughs at regular intervals after that.
Lucknow deployed six bowlers, with the exception of Holder, who only bowled one over, and all of them contributed. First up, Mohsin Khan and Dushmantha Chameera were outstanding. Avesh had a shaky start but rallied to win in the end. The breaks were applied by Krunal, and Bishnoi grabbed the crucial wicket of Shikhar Dhawan.
Krunal The star is born
Rabada’s four-for-nine effort is futile as the Kings suffer their fifth loss in nine games.
During Andy Flower’s two-and-a-half years on the franchise circuit, he has often stacked his teams with allrounders, and his Lucknow side has taken his T20 philosophy to its logical conclusion: they had nine bowling options on their side for this game, with Avesh Khan returning from injury to replace Manish Pandey in the playing XI.
Krunal has benefited from this strategy, as he has only been called upon to bowl when the conditions or match-ups were favorable.
With the penultimate delivery of his first over, his arm ball got a leading edge and looped up into the covers, removing Punjab’s sole remaining left-handed batter in their top seven, Bhanuka Rajapaksa.

Krunal has nine wickets in IPL 2022, with an economy rate of 6.18 and an average of three overs per game.
He had an even better record against right-handers, with eight wickets at 5.51 an over; Rajapaksa was the first left-hander he has dismissed this season.
Hooda De kock in a row
Kagiso Rabada inflicted an outside edge on KL Rahul, who fell for 6 in his first appearance against the Punjab club since he left them at the end of last season, as Lucknow’s top order battled to cope with the characteristics of the surface.
De Kock slammed him with back-to-back sixes, but they only mustered 39 runs on the powerplay.
Hooda got off to a rough start, hitting 3 off 12 balls and struggling to keep control, but sixes from Rishi Dhawan and Livingstone got the middle order moving.
Sandeep Sharma, who bowled out early and finished with 1 for 18 from four overs, caught de Kock’s outside edge to break the stand, and Lucknow was gearing up for the second half with de Kock on fire.
Mohsin in a Row
He’s a tall 23-year-old Uttar Pradesh seamer who has only played one first-class match, but his pace in the powerplay and slower balls through the middle and at the death have marked him out as another promising local talent.
He took the important wicket of Livingstone with the first delivery of his third over, leaving him with no pace to work with as he shuffled over to play a purposeful scoop, and then clinched the victory with two tail-end wickets in his fourth over, finishing with 3 for 24 and sealing Lucknow’s triumph.
