Elon Musk’s space exploration company, SpaceX, has set a blistering pace to record launch fifty-two missions in this year. The company is working its fingers to the bone for the objective they have set for the year. SpaceX will mark the record with the highest launch done by the company at a rate of one per week if it gets successful.
Sandra Magnus, an astronaut and former executive director of the American Institute of Aerospace and Astronautics, took the opportunity to reveal the ambitious plan of the private space company. The announcement was made in the virtual meeting of NASA’s Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel, the independent group of experts that dispense and evaluate NASA’s safety performance by observing their operations and decision-making process. In the meeting, Magnus called the plan an incredible one.
SpaceX has also scheduled multiple crewed spaceflights with NASA for 2022, to which Magnus advised both the companies to be careful and not become the victim of their success. He also stated that the companies must focus and ensure that the right resources are brought to maintain the swiftness of the task at a safe measure.
Founded by Elon Musk, SpaceX manufactures space transportation and offers space services. The company was founded in 2002 to bring down the cost of space transportation and help colonization on Mars. SpaceX is working as a significant partner with NASA in its human spaceflight program.
The company is also working under NASA’s Artemis program to develop a next-generation rocket system, Starship that focuses on an easy and efficient way to land astronauts on the moon. The company has set a benchmark in its field by becoming the manufacturer of the world’s most advanced rockets and spacecraft. Though it is a significant partner of NASA, it has launched many spacecraft and satellites for other international companies and customers that even include the US Department of Defence.

SpaceX’s Starlink project remains a big chunk that focuses on dispensing the broadband connection to the world. The project has an innovative and advanced idea centered on sustainability. It is working on launching thousands of satellites in the lower orbit, for which it is imperative for the company to launch many satellites at a time.
SpaceX carried out thirty-one orbital launches last year, breaking its record. Among the factors contributing to SpaceX’s rapid launch rate has been its ability to land its rocket boosters and recover each half of the nosecone after launches.
Though, there has been no official guarantee or announcement made by the company that the imposing plan will be achieved by the end of this year. There are many factors the company has to consider, like weather, launch plans, and resource availability. Elon Musk had a mission of launching forty-eight satellites last year but could manage only thirty-one. To have an impressive target is appreciable, but to achieve the target within time by utilizing resources efficiently is admirable.
