SRH VS RCB: SRH made fun of RCB’s star-studded batting lineup by rattling the team for a laughable 68 runs that too in 16.1 overs. The likes of Faf, DK, Maxwell, and Virat went without troubling the scorers. SRH has made a statement that they may not be having big names like GT, LSG, and RCB but they have the names who can easily create havoc in this lineup.
SRH is looking all set to fix their place in the play-offs as 3 more wins would guarantee that. RCB on the other hand don’t need to panic as they are in a much strong position but this loss would hurt them a lot.
RCB’s batting debacle
South African fast bowler Jansen dismissed Faf and Kohli in the same over. The batting woes of Virat Kohli continue as this has been the 7th match without a productive score on the board. RCB will have to take some bold decisions as this is the first time in the history of IPL that he has been dismissed for back-to-back golden ducks.
Virat himself should get himself refreshed by getting a rest as India needs him; South Africa is about to tour India in June for 5 T20I and then India is going to England and then the most important global event of the T20 World Cup is going to happen in Australia. All in all, India needs Virat Kohli to perform not to underperform which currently is taking place.
SRH openers hunt down the target
Abhishek Sharma and Kane Williamson got a clear-cut idea that they have the best chance to boost their NRR. They chased down the target in 8 overs and made a statement that they are here to win the Tata IPL 2022. Williamson was sly in the field as he took mind-blowing catches and was a bowler’s captain.
SRH is looking dangerous just like the 2016 and 2018 editions and who knows SRH would gatecrash everyone’s party as it is often said that Cricket is a game of Uncertainty.
What lies ahead for RCB and SRH
RCB needs to regroup and have some serious talks as getting bowled out for 68 is unacceptable at this level where there is cut-throat competition. The likes of DK need to play responsibly as his role isn’t just going bang-bang; he had the golden opportunity to take the team out of deep trouble but he was busy playing an attacking shot.
All in all, a couple of collapses like that would mean that RCB has taken a bad hit at their NRR which would definitely play a pivotal role in the end stage of IPL.
SRH need to make sure that they aren’t getting complacent as IPL can be a cruel competition. The rise of T Natarajan, Umran Malik, and Jansen has made sure that SRH is a settled unit and isn’t dependent on a single bowler which has been their specialty.
Williamson would be wary of the fact that his team hasn’t chased a big target which would be his only big concern as he knows that chasing has been his team’s weak link.
