Review
The Spider-Man fame actor plays the role of Nathan, a bartender who also pickpockets wealthy patrons. He along with Mark Wahlberg’s Sully agrees to travel to Barcelona, to find the supposedly hidden treasure.
Holland, with his amazing skills, stunts, and perfect comic timing has made the audiences swoon over him. He is an ideal choice for the film, for a 25-year-old with a boisterous attitude. His brotherly camaraderie with Mark Wahlberg is the best thing about the movie. From them supporting each other in difficult situations to the comedic talkbacks and fourths will keep you hooked, breaking the monotony of the constant action and adventure scenes.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer, who is known for his work in films like Zombieland, Gangster Squad, and Venom, gave the thrill-seeking audience a film promising an astonishing journey. Adapted from a video game series it has definitely incorporated the game’s authenticity.
His film serves as a prequel to the games so you will encounter a younger Nathan and his love-hate relationship with Sully. It will also provide an emotional backstory of Nathan. The film is basically a buddy comedy, exploring the friendship and childlike banter between the two characters. Much like Zombieland’s Tallahassee and Columbus, played by Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg, respectively.
The movie is massively entertaining, Holland and Wahlberg share great chemistry and their camaraderie makes this action-comedy an awesome journey. The narrative strikes a perfect balance with appropriately placed emotional scenes that do not make the film stretchy or tedious. Overall it is a wholesome package of entertainment. You won’t feel bored at any moment. The beautiful visuals, soundtracks are really mesmerizing. It also has thrilling action sequences, which were intriguing and will keep you glued to your seats. It may not be some groundbreaking adventure movie, that will create history but is a fun, light watch for a weekend, which might break the monotony of mundane life.
And on an additional note, do not immediately leave after the end of the movie, as there will be two post-credits scenes that might hint at something to look forward to.
