John Abraham, who played the role of the antagonist, Jim in Pathaan has a possibility of a comeback with his own spy film. Filmmaker Siddharth Anand played around with the possibility of Jim having a prequel.
Siddhart in an interview with Pinkvilla spoke about the box office records set by Pathaan and its characters played by Shah rukh khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham. The action film is YRF’s backed blockbuster spy success story. Pathaan is the fourth film in the YRF Spy Universe after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, and War.
While Shah Rukh Khan with his comeback in a leading role has gained all the eyeballs, John Abraham’s role as the antagonist in Pathaan, Jim has also left people mindboggling about its fate.
John’s portrayal of the character is loved by the audience so much that it has become the “backbone” of the movie’s success in a true manner as acknowledged by SRK in Pathaan’s Mumbai event.
The revelation of Jim and Kabir working as partners in Pathaan has created hype of a Jim deserving a backstory and crossover with Kabir as an independent spy film.
Talking about fate, when Siddharth was asked about Jim’s backstory, he told PinkVilla “It should be, but it’s too early to talk about anything. I feel Jim’s character does warrant a prequel.” Continuing the possibility of Hrithik and john’s crossover, he commented “Ya, why not, anything can happen. It’s a universe (YRF Spy Universe) and you can do anything with the characters – it’s a playground. You can have a prequel to Jim. Oh, wait, what if Jim is not dead? What if there’s a harness that pulls a parachute?”
There were even rumors that Hrithik Roshan will make a cameo as Kabir in Pathaan but it didn’t happen as the spy universe has just started bringing different characters together and to put all in just one movie would not do justice to the quest of all the possible combinations.
Now the question is will Jim return in Pathaan 2 or the audience is going to witness a new spy film with Jim as a main lead blowing our minds off?? Whatever the answer, Jim might return again to woo our hearts.
