THOR (2011)
The first installment in the character’s solo franchise introduces Chris Hemsworth as the main character. The movie explores the origins of the superhero in addition to the introduction of other characters like Loki, Asgard, Odin, etc. Thor is based on the god of thunder in Norse mythology and is portrayed differently from the other superheroes.
Unlike the previous Marvel movies, Thor took a different turn in terms of the portrayal of the sci-fi elements as it is more of a fantasy movie as compared to the conventional superhero movie.
THE AVENGERS (2012)
Avengers, the first film in a new franchise, is a must-watch for any superhero fan. The elements of aliens, multiple superheroes like Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and a powerful villain, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) contribute to an astounding experience. The second installment in the character’s solo franchise has some really important events which are connected with the Infinity Stones. The movie also explores the relationship between Jane and Thor, and Thor and Loki.
The movie, however, could not get much love from the fans. But this movie has some crucial scenes which are important to Thor’s character and the story as well.

The Guardians of the Galaxy make a comeback in Thor: Love and Thunder. So to know about them, it is important to watch these two movies. The movies have fun, found family tropes, and explore how they bond and grow together as a group.
AVENGER: AGE OF ULTRON (2015)
In addition to the Avengers saga, Avenger: Age of Ultron brings the group of superheroes back together. In this movie, Thor is put specifically to look for the Infinity Stones, keeping him away from the group on Earth.
THOR: RAGNAROK (2017)

AVENGERS: ENDGAME (2019)
This sequel marks the last time Thor was seen on screen as his character goes through a lot of emotional turmoil. The biggest installment in the Marvel franchise is essential as it is the immediate predecessor to Thor: Love and Thunder.
The upcoming installment Thor: Love and Thunder hit the theatres on July 8, 2022.
