In India’s Kuno National Park, another cheetah died today morning. The tool has taken a huge nine, within a sheer five months. The higher authorities at the park said that a post-mortem was being done to examine the cause of death. Again! One more Cheetah dies at Kuno National Park, toll increased to Nine.
A press stated that “A female cheetah named Dhatri (Tiblisi) was found dead today’s morning. To examine the reason for the death, a post-mortem is taking place.”
Cheetahs and their back-to-back deaths
Nine cheetahs which includes three cubs have died so far at the National Park in Madhya Pradesh. The park presented 20 adult cheetahs from South Africa and Namibia in September 2022. Furthermore, four cubs were born there.
Previously, two male cheetahs had died in quick series last month. On 11th July Tejas passed away. Meanwhile, Suraj’s dead body was found on July 14. As per as the Media reports state their death happened because of infections that might be caused due to their radio collars in the extremely wet weather.
Foreign Experts move Supreme Court
Scholars from Namibia and South Africa, all portions of the National cheetah project management committee liable for the translocation of twenty cheetahs to India since last September. Have explicit their utter agony to the Supreme Court.
They have highly serious firms about the authorities of the project. Featuring how the deaths could have been stopped through better taking care and proper veterinary care, had their skills been valued and mixed.
Nevertheless, the Union Ministry of Climate, Environment and Forest Change dismissed these claims, thinking of them as “unscientific”.
An autopsy revealed that Tejas was not recovering from a “traumatic shock” that lead to a violent dispute with a female cheetah. Meanwhile, there were many deaths and injuries have been ascribed to fighting among cheetahs. As well as health problems such as cardiac failure.
Cheetah’s death at Kuno
On 27th March, the Cheetah named Sasha died due to a kidney ailment. On 23rd April Uday expired because of Cardio-pulmonary failure. Daksha died due to Violent interaction during a mating attempt.
As India has hot and humid weather three Cheetah cubs died because of dehydration on 23rd May as they could not cope with this temperature. On 11 July Tejas expired due to infighting. Surya’s last day was on 14 July due to an infection. Today that is the 2nd of August Dhatri expired and the reason is still in process.
Even one female cheetah is still under observation. She is under deep monitoring by the management team. She will be going under health tests.
The reasons are still not yet found why the cheetahs are dying. The issue is still a piece of big news in today’s news. Back to back, the death of cheetahs is not a good sign.
