India

A 15-people team has been announced by the BCCI for the competition. Due to an injury, Jasprit Bumrah was forced to withdraw from the competition. On the other side, Mohammed Shami was passed over for the team. The focus will be on Virat Kohli getting back in shape. He has had two years of hitting struggles and needs to have a breakout season this year.

The title defence of Rohit Sharma will also be watched closely. India has won the last two Asia Cups and has a chance to win three consecutive championships. Despite the absence of Bumrah and Shami, the lineup appears to be strong and well-rounded.

Pakistan

Shaheen Afridi was taken off the team because he hurt his knee. In his place, the PCB announced a 15-person lineup. Given how well he did against India in the T20 World Cup last year, this is a big loss for the team. Mohammad Wasim’s list of illnesses now includes a back problem. He may have gotten an MRI. Wasim has been to all three of the team’s practices since they arrived in Dubai on Tuesday.

In this important game, it will be up to Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to score runs. Last year, at the T20 World Cup, both of them played innings in which they didn’t lose a single run. This helped the team win by 10 wickets. Pakistan is now a much better team with a lot of potentials. They can definitely give India a run for their money.

India played four matches in the T20 World Cup in Dubai, winning two and losing two. While Pakistan and New Zealand soundly defeated the Men in Blue, Namibia, and Scotland, who were considered underdogs, were the winners. In both games, India lost the coin toss; this will be a recurring theme throughout the Asia Cup.

On the other hand, Pakistan has enjoyed success there and has played a large quantity of cricket there. Azam and company want a repetition of last year’s humiliating triumph over India, which took place there.

The Dubai Cricket Stadium’s pitch commonly sees scores between 160 and 170, making it unsuitable for explosive batting. The batsmen make the most of the fairly short straight boundaries in Dubai. Additionally, there is additional bounce and seam movement in this. The spinners have very little advantage on this.
