After going through so many delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Black Panther: Wakanda forever finally premiered on Wednesday the 26th of October in Hollywood. A sequel to the 2018 film Black Panther, this movie is the last one in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The 2018 Black Panther was a huge hit crossing over $1.3 billion and is the first-ever nomination for Best Picture at the Oscars.
Fans have huge expectations from this movie as well and from the looks of the first reactions posted on Twitter, it is not going to disappoint. After actor Chadwick Boseman died of colon cancer in 2020, there isn’t anyone cast in his role.
In fact, the sequel will resume after the death of Chadwick’s character King T’Challa. As Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and Dora Mijale take it upon themselves to fight for the protection of Wakanda. Directed by Ryan Coogler who also co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole.

Director Ryan Coogler was immensely praised by fans and critics for the movie but he mentioned how heartbroken he is in an interview with Entertainment Weekly “at a point when I was like, ‘I’m walking away from this business”.
In another interview with American Daily, he mentioned “I didn’t know if I could make another movie or another ‘black panther’ movie, because it hurt a lot. I was like ‘man, how could I open myself up to the feeling like this again?”
“I was pouring over a lot of conversations that we had, towards what I realized was the end of his life. “I decided that it made more sense to keep going”. He also added
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is being mentioned by critics as the best movie ever by Marvel Universe. Let’s take a look at the reactions from the fans
One of them writes,“ #WakandaForever’s bigger in scope and scale than #BlackPanther, but its story is also one of Marvel’s most intimate and heartfelt. It’s definitely a Comic Book Movie, but it’s one that centers on grief and the grieving process rather than superheroics and spectacle. Full review soon” – @CharlesPulliam
Film critic Fico Cangiano wrote, “#WakandaForever is fantastic! Coogler delivers a soulful, wondrous sequel that packs an emotional punch & effectively explores relevant world themes. A beautiful tribute to Boseman’s legacy. Letitia & Tenoch are great, & the mid-credits scene is really moving. #BlackPanther” – @FicoCangiano
Some got a little too emotional, “#BlackPanther #WakandaForever was an EPIC emotional rollercoaster of an adventure!! CRIED NUMEROUS TIMES AND HAVE NO SHAME!
Letitia Wright’s performance as Shuri was one for the age! A complete elevation of her previous times!”
Variety’s Clayton Davis writes, “#BlackPantherWakandaForever is a beautiful tribute to Chadwick Boseman. A visual stunner, with Angela Bassett commanding every scene she inhabits. Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” will do that for many. Another great post-credit scene that’s genuinely a jaw-dropper. Don’t know about Oscars.”
Calling it the best ever from marvel, “#WakandaForever is amazing! Coogler delivered an epic and emotional sequel that is an incredible tribute to Chadwick Boseman’s legacy. Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, and Tenoch Huerta give their all in the roles.
This is easily the best movie from phase 4.”- @DorianParksnRec
