Brahmastra has been gaining a lot of buzz ever since its trailer came out. Fans are awaiting the release of the movie, and cannot wait to dive into this fantastical world of Astraverse. The first part of the trilogy, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, will hit the theatres on September 9, 2022.
The Concept Of Astraverse
The fantasy movie is inspired by Indian mythological tales and introduces a new universe of Indian superheroes. Ayan Mukerji, the director of the film, released a video on July 13, where he explains the Astraverse and the different Astras. He is seen talking about the premise of the movie and the importance of astras. The four Astras are used as weapons and each signifies – water, fire, earth, and wind. Each Astra specializes in a particular trait, but the one Astra that is the most powerful is the Brahmastra. This Astra carries the traits and powers collectively of all the astras.
On the occasion of Guru Purnima, Ayan also posted the video on his Instagram with a caption, where he talks about his attempt to present mythology in his own way.
The film is unique because of its eccentric take on mythological sages and how they are presented. This concept of a secret society of sages (called Brahmansh) is an interesting way of presenting a world unknown to the mundane world. Ayan talks about this concept and calls it something that no one has ever done before with Indian mythology.
Ranbir Kapoor as Shiva
He proceeded by talking about the character of Shiva, played by Ranbir Kapoor. The name of the character is inspired by the God Shiva and is selected as the filmmaker wanted to give a tribute to Indian roots by choosing the God who is known for his power and valor. He also adds that he is a devotee of Lord Shiva.
About The Making Of The Film
Brahmastra has been a work in development for a very long time. With the COVID-19 pandemic, the film could not be released and had multiple release dates.
