Annie’s actor, Cameron Diaz announced her retirement from acting in 2018. Her last film before retirement was 2014’s Annie. The actor has acted in many popular films like Charlie’s Angels Franchise, The Holiday, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Shrek, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, and many more. And now she has announced her comeback in action with a Netflix Movie: Back In Action with Jamie Foxx.
The announcement was made on Foxx’s social media where he posted audio of him and Diaz talking about how nervous she is to make a comeback. Foxx calls her GOAT which stands for ‘Greatest Of All Time’. The conversation is joined by Tom Brady, who claims himself to know a lot about un-retiring.
Brady, who announced his retirement on Feb 1, 2022, returned to the field just after a few weeks.
Cameron will be seen opposite Jamie Foxx in the film, Back In Action, which is suitably titled. The two are working together after eight years. The pair was last seen in the remake of the movie, Annie in 2014.
Foxx’s post about the comeback also included a caption, called Cameron and Tom GOAT, and also announced that the production for the film will be starting later this year.
Cameron also showed her excitement by sharing the post on her social media.
Diaz Announcing Her Retirement From Acting
The actor had earlier worked in a lot of romcoms and became the voice for Princess Fiona in Shrek. She won a lot of awards for her immaculate acting and has been critically acclaimed for her roles in Gangs of New York and Vanilla Sky.
But in 2018 she formally announced her retirement after she had indicated about taking a step back. After her retirement, the actor also talked about her mental peace that she was craving while acting in a wellness podcast.

Cameron and her husband, Benji Madden welcomed their daughter in 2019. She also released her second book, ‘The Longevity Book: The Science of Ageing, The Biology of Strength, and The Privilege of Truth’. She also started investing in many health and biotech startups. Also, she started her own organic wine brand called ‘Avaline’.

As mentioned before, Foxx announced that the production for the film will start later this year. The action movie will be directed and co-written by Seth Gordon and Brendon O’Brien. About the story of the movie, it hasn’t been made public. Jamie Foxx will also be the executive producer along with Datari Turner, Mark McNair, and O’Brien. The movie will be produced by Beau Bauman for Good One Productions and Gordon via Exhibit A.
This will be an addition to the list of big names starring in a Netflix film.
