According to family members of Chalapathi Rao, “Chalapathi Rao’s last rites would be performed after his daughter arrives from America. To allow mourners to pay their respects, his body would be kept at Ravi Babu’s residence in Banjara Hills till Sunday afternoon. On Wednesday, December 28, after 3 o’clock, his final rites will be performed.
Early Childhood and career
Chalapathi Rao began his career in the film industry with the help of Sr. NTR after being born in Andhra Pradesh in 1944. With the 1966 movie Goodachari 116, he launched his acting career. He appeared in a variety of comedic and villainous roles in movies starring NTR, Krishna, Shoban Babu, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, and Balakrishna, among others.
For various movies, including Kaliyuga Krishnudu, Kadapa Reddamma, Jagannatakam, Pellante Noorella Panta, and President Gari Alludu, the seasoned performer also wore the producer’s cap. His final on-screen appearance was in the 2021 movie Bangarraju.
Rao was an Andhra Pradesh native from Baliparru. In Tollywood, his son Ravi Babu works as an actor, director, and producer. Rao has a large filmography, appearing in movies including Sakshi (1966), Driver Ramudu (1979), Vajram (1995), and even the Bollywood movie Kick (2009).
