At Kasba Sudhaar Bazaar, death rites were performed for Punjabi actress Daljeet Kaur who passed away.
During her time, Daljeet Kaur also represented India in both hockey and kabaddi. She starred as the female lead in several hugely successful Punjabi movies, including “Putt Jattan De,” “Mamla Gadbad Hai,” and “Patola,” among others.
On November 17, 2022, in Ludhiana, Punjab, near Kasba Sudhaar Bazaar, veteran Punjabi actress Daljeet Kaur Khangura passed away. It was said that Daljeet was through protracted mental illness therapy. The renowned actress appeared in up to 10 Hindi movies among the more than 70 Punjabi movies she worked on. She was 69 years old.
Today at 1:00 PM in Ludhiana, the last rituals for Punjabi actress Daljeet Kaur were performed. She attended the famed FTII in Pune to study acting after completing her undergraduate studies at Lady Sri Ram College (LSR). She made her acting debut in the 1976 movie “Daaj.”
Hockey and Kabaddi’s national player at the time was Daljeet Kaur. She starred as the lead in a number of hugely successful Punjabi movies, including “Putt Jattan De,” “Mamla Gadbad Hai,” “Ki Banu Duniya Da,” “Sarpanch,” and “Patola.” In Singh VS Kaur, Daljeet portrayed Gippy Grewal’s mother (2013).
After the terrible passing of her spouse, actor Harminder Singh Deol, in a car accident, Daljeet ceased her career in the film industry.
Her abrupt death has surprised both her fans and colleagues in the profession. Many expressed their sorrow over her passing and condolences to the family.
The Film and Television Institute of India was Daljeet Kaur’s place of study. She graduated with actor Satish Shah. In remembrance of Daljeet Kaur, Satish said on Twitter: “Daljeet Kaur, the Punjabi lead girl from earlier times, died on the 17th of this month. She was a good friend and classmate. May her soul rest in peace forever. 1976 FTII batch.” The precise reason Daljeet Kaur passed away is yet unknown.
Actress Neeru Bajwa posted a message on Instagram to confirm the tragic news of her passing “Take that, #daljitkaur Ji. You were an inspiration. This is really terrible news. I’m very happy I had the chance to collaborate with you, #legend in #heerranjha.”
Mika Singh, a singer, honoured the star on Twitter. He stated, “The lovely actress, Legend of Punjab #Daljeetkaur has unfortunately passed away leaving us with her lovely memories. God bless her soul, and may she rest in peace for all time.
Her fellow FTII classmate, actor Satish Shah, expressed his sorrow as well: “A good friend and batchmate Daljeet Kaur, the Punjabi lead girl of yesteryears, passed away on July 17th. May her soul rest in peace forever. FTII batch from 1976.
