The highly awaited trailer for House of The Dragons is finally here precisely one month before the release of its first episode. Not only have the GOT fans been treated with a trailer, but HBO also posted a behind-the-scenes video. The video features the man himself, George RR Martin, and the other makers of the series. They not only shared some plot details but also shared a few BTS scenes from the upcoming prequel series along with a glimpse of the massive set. The trailer was shared on HBO’s official Twitter page on Wednesday.

Let’s have a look at everything we know about House of the Dragons
Plot
House of the Dragons is based on the book Fire & Blood written by George RR Martin. The story takes place almost 300 years before the events of Game Of Thrones and follows the story of the rise and downfall of the Targaryens, the only family to survive the Doom of Valyria. It covers the beginning of the end of House Targaryens, and what led to the Targaryen Civil War, also known as the ‘Dance of the Dragons’.
However, in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, it has been pointed out that the show will have ‘several multi-year jumps’, which makes it nothing similar to the beloved Game of Thrones concept.
Cast

This star-studded series features Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Emily Carey, Graham McTavish, Milly Alcock, Ryan Corr, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan,
Gavin Spokes, Savannah Steyn, and Theo Nate.
The creators of the show include George RR Martin, Ryan Condal, and Miguel Sapochnik (the director of Game of Thrones). This trio will also play the role of the executive producers along with Vince Gerardis, and Sara Lee Hess.
The Idea For This Prequel
Reportedly, HBO asked several teams to pitch spin-offs, and the results ranged from some good ideas to some bad ones. And that’s where the idea to make a prequel to one of the most popular series of all time came to be.
Future Projects
House of the Dragons is not the only spin-off that we are getting. There’s a lot more coming. Jon Snow’s character is getting a spin-off, a direct sequel to the Game of Thrones, A Dunk and Egg series; a prequel about Toussaint’s character, and four different animated versions of Game Of Thrones.
Release Date
The show will premiere on HBO Max on August 21, and on Disney+Hotstar on August 22. The first season has 10 episodes.
