Rimi Nayak India is a womenswear designer known for her sensual drapes, recognizable designs, and unusual surface treatments, in addition to her timeless cuts. Throughout the years, the designer has remained true to her ingenuity, which is evident in her works, which feature inventive surface texturing, covert draping, and liberal use of traditional craft methods.
The line’s soul is defined by its richness, elegance, and sensuality, which serves as a testament to today’s global lady. She has been attempting to resurrect the Bengali letterform through research on Bengali typography. Despite the fact that we use typography every day, we frequently overlook letterforms.
Through her typeface-inspired collections, the designer hopes to free typefaces from the constraints of the page and give words and alphabets the opportunity to communicate their content in a new dimension. This work also serves as a modest ode to the Bengali language and an attempt to rekindle interest in a language that is falling out of favor.
Rimi Nayak has been featured in leading fashion publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Verve, Grazia, Femina, and Cosmopolitan, and celebrities such as Vidya Balan, Swara Bhaskar, Yami Gautam, Esha Gupta, Sayani Gupta, and Amrita Rao, to name a few.
Rimi Nayak India was named one of the top 15 Indian designer brands at the 2015 Vogue India Fashion Fund. In addition, the label received the Goldman Sachs-sponsored Indian School of Business Best Business Plan Award in 2013.
Rimi Nayak India retails in Indian cities such as Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh, as well as in countries such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Australia, and Sri Lanka.
