Storyline
Liger (Vijay Deverakonda) and his mother (Ramya Krishna) move to Mumbai in the hopes of him becoming an MMA champion. Balamani wishes to see her son as a Boxing Champion as her husband died without realizing their son’s dream of winning an MMA ( Mixed Martial Arts) championship.
The mother & son duo run a chai shop in Mumbai for their livelihood. Soon Liger starts training under Ronit Roy, an MMA guru. The overall plot focuses on him falling in love with Tanya (Ananya Panday) and the journey of Liger from a National Champion to an International one,
Liger Movie Review
There is no lie that the plot of Liger could’ve been better. But the movie seems to have a promising pair-up of action and drama. Puri Jagannadh starts the movie on an inspirational note, which later takes the shift to a love story. The dimension of the movie is very intense yet likable and easygoing but the plot seemed rushed.
The first half portrays a proper story and good songs. Liger’s journey to the US seems a bit over the top as for his humble background. The production work and cinematic aspects are neat and enjoyable with their locations of Mumbai & Vegas. The music is cool & catchy. The movie deems light impact and praise-worthy action at its best.
Cast performances
Vijay Deverakonda is exceptionally stunning with his role. He proves to be the backbone of this movie without a single doubt. His body transformation is also incredible and suits well for an MMA player.
Ananya with her charms does her best as she plays a rich quirky girl. Ronit Roy is also great as the coach. Vishu Reddy provides justice to his role. Mike Tyson is seen for the legend that he is. Ramya Krishna is very motherly and quite impressive. Ali and Getup Srinu seem to be doing just fine with their comedy.
Overall the characters balance the plot of action and love drama in Liger quite well.
