Lisa of the girl group Blackpink is about to make history as the first K-Pop idol by being inducted into the “Asian Hall Of Fame.” Lisa will be inducted into the Asian Hall of Fame as a “Cultural Icon.”

She is the first K-Pop starlet to be honored in this way, making her induction into the Hall of Fame a momentous occasion. She now takes her place alongside other greats like Freddie Mercury and Ryuichi Sakamoto.

The Asian Hall of Fame, established in 2004, serves as a forum for recognizing outstanding Asian contributions and fostering cross-cultural understanding.

Just a few days after Blackpink celebrated their 7th anniversary, word spread that the group’s maknae, Lisa, was being inducted into the Asian Hall Of Fame. Lisa, who will be inducted into the Asian Hall of Fame in 2023 for her role as a cultural icon, is the first K-Pop idol to accomplish this incredible feat.

Being the first non-Korean idol to sign with YG Entertainment marked a significant turning point in Lisa’s career. Over time, her profound influence has left its mark all over the world.

To date, Lisa has amassed 96.8 million Instagram followers, making her the most popular K-Pop star in the world. Even major fashion houses like Chanel, Dior, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, and Celine have taken notice of her, with Celine choosing her as their muse because of her impeccable style and magnetic charisma.

Lisa released her first solo album, simply titled “LALISA,” in September 2021, and it became an instant hit. It broke records in South Korea, becoming the first female artist’s album to sell over 700,000 copies in its first week there.

The music video for the song “Lalisa” broke the 24-hour record for most views on YouTube for a solo artist with 73.6 million. The album’s first single, “Lalisa,” and its second, virally successful single, “Money,” both debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard Global 200.

With over a billion plays on Spotify, “Lalisa” made history as the first solo album by a K-Pop artist. Lisa has been recognized for her accomplishments at many levels, including seven Guinness World Records and numerous prestigious music awards. She has been the most popular K-pop star on Instagram since 2019.

About The Asian Hall Of Fame 

The Asian Hall of Fame, which was founded in 2004, celebrates more than just musicians. The list is open to influential people from all walks of life and fields of endeavor, including business leaders, artists, and more. Lisa of Blackpink, TOKiMONSTA, Far East Movement, Ben Fong-Torres, Freddie Mercury, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Johnny Cash are among the sixteen new inductees this year. The ceremony will take place on October 31, 2023, at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
