LSG now almost are qualified for the playoffs in the Tata IPL 2022. On the other hand, KKR is done and out of the tournament as now they can only drag the teams down. KL Rahul would be delighted as he had got out on zero and then his team posted a respectable total on the board.
This victory for LSG means that they are not dependent on KL Rahul and at the same time the likes of De Kock, Stoinis, Krunal, and Hooda are doing the damage.
Quinton de Kock shines at the Big Stage
The left-handed battle made a statement that is not done as he scored a blistering half-century. He took the attack against the likes of team Saudi who is regarded as one of the best bowlers in the T20 arena. He along with Deepak Hooda made sure that they are making the most out of the power play overs. The return of the form for Quinton means that LSG is back on right track.
Powerful Cameo from Stoinis
Stoinis took time to get his eye in and just when the blitz was needed. He scored 28 runs in 14 balls and took the opponent by surprise.
After his dismissal, Jason Holder continued the hitting and made sure that LSG are setting a challenging 177 target. The peculiarity of this knock was that Stoinis made sure that he played mind games with Shivam Mavi.
LSG Bowlers rattled KKR’s Tata IPL 2022
KKR’s last three wickets in the power play over as the likes of Shreyas Iyer the Skipper were dismissed. Later Andre Russell showed some fight by scoring consecutive sixes and playing a Cameo but it was too late.
The likes of Avesh Khan, Chameera, and Holder made sure that KKR betters getting any sort of start.
KKR management would be extremely disappointed because there were High Hopes from Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana to make sure that they are leading the run chase.
What went Wrong for KKR
KKR bowlers should have restricted LSG to 160. Giving the ball to Shivam Mavi in the 19th over proved to be too costly as he was taken to 5 sixes. When team Saudi had one over left Shreyas Iyer should have given that over to Tim Southee as the score would have been different and the scoreboard pressure won’t have haunted them.
The likes of Shreya Nitish Rana should have played more maturely as a single score of 70-80 runs from one of them would have made sure that they’re winning the match. KKR lost a lot of consecutive matches which definitely disturbed the teams’ momentum which is not acceptable at this level.
All in all, KKR management and owners should give a long group to Shreyas Iyer as changing the captain won’t be the solution because every year a new captain would change the dynamics of the team as well as the players have respect for Shreyas Iyer we should not forget that Shreya to Delhi capitals out of the mud from 2018 till 2020.
