Munawar Faruqui wins Kangana’s show Lock Upp: Reality shows are the heart and soul of the Indian entertainment industry, whether it is a dance, singing, or other couple or game-based reality shows. WINNER
The season winner was none other than contestant Munawar Faruqui, who received the trophy as well as an estimated cash prize of between 5 and 25 lakhs, a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, and a fully sponsored trip to Italy.
When Kangana announced Munawar as the first of the top three contestants, she also revealed that he received more than 18 lakh votes.
Munawar appeared on the show just after his fiasco. He was imprisoned for a month last year for allegedly “insulting Hindu gods and goddesses” at one of his performances. Many of his gigs were canceled when he was released on bail.
The comedian then stated in a statement that he was imprisoned for a joke he never delivered. He also implied that he had enough humor. “Nafrat jeet Gayi, artist haar Gaya,” says the artist (hate has won, the artist has lost). I’m finished; goodbye. “Injustice,” he wrote.
Before being part of the show the winner spoke to the team of indianexpress.com and said that this show will help him come out of his comfort zone as a person.
