Pathaan Box Office: Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathaan has achieved the unthinkable for a Bollywood movie in recent times. The film is all set for a bumper opening of Rs.50 crore in India, thanks to super advance bookings by fans! Shows for Pathaan in theatres began as early as 6 am, which itself is more common for Hollywood films and south Indian superstars like Rajinikanth rather than a Bollywood film. After positive reviews, Pathaan has received an unprecedented demand for shows in India. So much so that the production house Yash Raj Films (YRF) has added midnight shows (12:30 am) on the first day itself! So, on January 26 at midnight you will be able to watch Pathaan.
With the extra screenings at night, Pathaan is releasing with around 5,300 screens in India and 8,000 screens already playing the film worldwide.
Pathaan was released in India on January 25, 2023, on a Wednesday. Usually, Thursdays are reserved for film releases except for when there is a holiday in the week. January 26 is a public holiday in India, as the country celebrates Republic Day. This means that January 26 will have people thronging to theatres to watch Pathaan.
Pathaan Saves Bollywood
Pathaan brings Bollywood out of the rut after a disastrous 2022, which had only a few films making money at the box office. People were hesitant to visit theatres post-COVID-19 and the OTT boom and therefore watched only those films in the theatres that promised huge entertainment. The rest of the movies flopped.
Pathaan gives us just that. With the star power and screen presence of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Salman Khan in a stylish cameo, and Dimple Kapadia, Pathaan provides wholesome entertainment.
The film is likely to break box office records in the first week and opening weekend. If things go well, the worldwide box office collections of Pathaan may go up to Rs 200–250 crore in the first five days of its release.
