In a surprising turn of events, La La Land and The Notebook star Ryan Gosling announced on Twitter that he will be giving away his most prized possession, i.e., the Ken guitar, to BTS’ Jimin. Ryan Gosling said that it was “Ken Code” to give up his “most prized possession” after donning the same shirt Jimin wore for the PTD music video. Army, the name of the BTS fandom, went berserk and started trending multiple hashtags featuring Ryan Gosling and Jimin.
What Did Ryan Gosling Say?
Although Gosling wore a wide variety of costumes in the Barbie movie, one, in particular, caused him to experience deja vu: In the 2021 music video for “Permission To Dance,” Jimin wore an almost identical outfit. Here’s what he had to say in the video posted to Barbie’s Twitter:
” Hi, Jimin. It’s Ryan Gosling here. I noticed that your ‘Permission to Dance’ outfit was the same as my Ken outfit in the upcoming movie Barbie. “ – Barbie Movie’s official Twitter account
Because of that, Ryan Gosling revealed that he was handing over his “most prized possession,” – the guitar he used in the film.

And it doesn’t come as a surprise. Jimin once said during a red carpet appearance for an award show back in 2017 that The Notebook was his favorite movie, and he revealed that Rachel McAdams was his crush at the time. And Jimin reiterated his statement when he wrote on Weverse that he had been watching the movie for the seventh time in a row last year.
Which Outfit Is Being Talked About?
The outfit being talked about here is a black Western shirt with white fringe that Jimin – who made his solo debut with ‘Face’ earlier this year in March – first wore in the year 2021 when BTS dropped the music video for Permission To Dance.
And in Greta Gerwig’s directional, Barbie, Ryan Gosling portrayed a distinctive look. The movie also stars Margot Robbie. As the earlier tweet clarified, the interview had already been shot before the SAG – AFTRA strike began earlier this month. This strike forbids actors from getting involved in any interviews to promote their films.

And it isn’t the first time that a BTS member has been surprised with a guitar. Back in December 2021, Chris Martin, lead singer and the frontman of Coldplay gifted his personal guitar to BTS’ oldest member Jin, who complimented the instrument and was in awe of it.
