Post Match Analysis of SRH vs GT by Cricket Analyst Varad Vaichal – Captain Kane Williamson made sure that SRH chase down 163 runs comfortably. SRH won the match by 8 wickets and made a statement that they can’t be taken lightly as the major attention is towards MI, CSK, KKR, RCB, and GT. SRH would be pumped up as GT was the team that was undefeated.
All in all, it looks like SRH has found its groove and is looking ominous as the way they played gave some glimpses of the 2016 Champion Side; SRH made some changes in their coaching staff as they made Legendary Batter Brian Lara as their batting consultant and made Dale Steyn as the fast bowling coach, this change in coaching hub so far has been topsy-turvy yet some positive signs have come out as SRH have beaten CSK and now GT.
GT with the bat in hand
GT got off to a dreadful start as they lost 3 wickets for 64 runs that too in 8 overs. The skipper Hardik Pandya this time took the responsibility for the team as he struck a half-century in 42 balls.
The tyro Abhinav Manohar thrilled everyone as he scored 35 runs in 21 balls and was looking lethal. During the death overs, SRH’s fielders were dropping dollies which were quite funny as you don’t expect to drop catches at this level where no excuse is entertained.
T Natarajan was absolutely best with the ball in hand as he had figures of 2 wickets as he gave away 34 runs in his 4 over spell. He is making a statement to the Selectors that he can’t be ignored for a long time.
Ravi Shastri also said in a statement that Natarajan was on our cards for ICC T20 World Cup 2021(*He was injured and was going through a rehab process). All in all, SRH bowlers bowled brilliantly as they restricted the batters of GT to under 165.
SRH with the bat in hand
In response to the 163 target, SRH batters had a decent power-play as they scored 42 runs. Abhishek Sharma was swift in his approach as he made sure to take calculative risks.
He scored 42 runs in 32 balls and continued his good form as earlier he troubled CSK with crisp hitting. Kane Williamson made sure that there are no collapses. He scored 57 runs in 46 balls and was absolutely bang.
Later, Nicholas Pooran played a dashing cameo of 34 runs in 18 balls as of now it can be said that SRH has brought the dangerous Pooran back as earlier he had a dismal outing which was forgettable.
All in all, SRH would be happy that they found their mojo back and now would be hoping to continue the good work as in IPL you have to make the most of your purple patch; the likes of CSK and MI are reeling at the bottom of the points table which can be a dangerous sign as they have a knack of changing the gears very quickly, SRH should try to win matches as much as they can as MI and CSK are most likely to bring out their best in the 11th hour.
