Everyone was curious about who plays the disc jockey DJ Mohabbat in Anurag Kashyap’s latest directorial Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat. At first, we thought it was the film’s debut male lead, Karan Mehta, even though the female lead Alaya F has three different avatars in the film.
But now it has been revealed by Anurag Kashyap that it is none other than actor Vicky Kaushal who is playing DJ Mohabbat in the film!
Vicky and Anurag are a team, with four films together
Vicky Kaushal has been much loved in Anurag Kashyap’s films, whether it is Manmarziyaan, Raman Raghav 2.0, or Bombay Velvet. With Almost Pyaar DJ Mohabbat, Vicky and Anurag mark their fourth film together.
As per our information, Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat will have Vicky Kaushal in a very special role as DJ Mohabbat. Vicky has also been given a never-seen-before look in the film, much like he was in Manmarziyaan.

Vicky Kaushal aka DJ Mohabbat said about the film and the director, “Anurag Sir has been a mentor, friend, and in ways, he’s been my window into the world of cinema. When he spoke to me about this role, I was immediately on board and this special appearance is for a special film, made by my special friend.”
Anurag Kashyap said about Vicky Kaushal’s role in the film, “The character of DJ Mohabbat is so integral to the story that I wanted someone special to play it. DJ Mohabbat is the voice of love and is the conduit between two stories and I wanted someone who is that. Someone everyone loves because they trust and believe him. Vicky is that to me since I’ve known him. Always speaks his heart, never forgets, is grateful to his audience and people and the characters he plays. When I asked, ‘If not SRK (Shah Rukh Khan), then who?’. My whole cast and my daughter and her friends in unison said Vicky Kaushal.”
Presented by Zee Studios under Good Bad Films Production, Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat releases on February 3, 2023, two weeks before Valentine’s Day. Starring Alaya F and Karan Mehta, the film is Anurag Kashyap’s ode to modern love, much like some of his earlier films, but with a twist that only he can give.
