Ishan stated after the end of the day that “the half-century was special. He knew what India wanted from him. All the team members backed him. Virat Kohli backed him and told him to go and play his own natural game’. The team is hoping to finish the match the next day. It was Virat Kohli bhai who pushed him and told him that he should go in naturally. There was a slow left-arm bowler who was bowling. It was a nice call for the squad. Sometimes people need to take these calls”.
Ishan concluded, “Many senior players kept talking to the bowlers. The next day’s match must be a great one. The team needs to hit the correct areas, and it’s crucial to get wickets early. It was one of his goals to get to the whites. He just wanted to step onto the field and hit the balls. He is really grateful to his family, as they have always supported him throughout”.
