The first Doctor Strange was released in 2016 directed by Scott Derrickson which left the audience craving for the second part. Following the series, Doctor Strange was shown in  Spider-Man – No Way Home released in 2021.

In that movie, Strange opened a portal to a parallel universe on Spider-Man’s plead. This brought the Spider-Man of other universes which were Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Not only this, but all the villains of other universes also crawled their way in.

Following the trail of Doctor Strange, a glimpse of the Multiverse of Madness was shown in the post-climax of Spider-Man – No Way Home. In that glimpse, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda made an appearance with Strange discussing the possibility of dangers that would come if the multiverse portal were to open up. This credit scene was enough to spark excitement and curiosity among the fans for the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

After all the wait, the trailer of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was released in 2022. The main characters of this movie are Doctor Strange and Scarlet witch Wanda with familiar characters of MCU only in their different universes.

Sam Raimi, director of this movie has some mind-changing concepts that will make the fans sit on the edge of their seat with wonder. He has also introduced the Illuminati in the film.

The Illuminati is a secret society that exists both in the real and fictitious world. The real world has conspiracy theories where the people of this society control the world.

It is more dangerous and sinister spun, unlike the fiction verse where the Illuminati is considered a secret society of superheroes. These superheroes are more exclusive than the avengers as given in the comics. And this film has adapted some of its parts from the comic version of Illuminati.

As shown in one of the scenes in the trailer of Multiverse of Madness, Strange is abducted by the Illuminati and there might be a chance to see Tom Cruise as Iron Man being a part of that same Illuminati. There are theories that the secret society of MCU will bring back old characters in new versions.
