Actor Chris Evans, widely known for his role as Steve Rogers/Captain America and more recently for his role as Buzz Lightyear in the movie Lightyear has been bestowed with the title of the sexiest man alive by the People’s Magazine for the year 2022. The announcement was made on ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’.
With this, he joins the starstudded list of previous title holders including Paul Rudd, Chris Hemsworth, Michael B. Jordan, Tom Cruise, George Clooney, and Bradd Pitt among others. The declaration was accompanied by a slew of fall photoshoot pictures of the actor that were warmly received by the netizens.
The actor seemed overjoyed by the love that poured in and said that ‘my mom would be so happy!’ and that now he would be subject to gentle harassment by his friends.
Chris Evans – Stepping into Marvel Cinematic Universe
Born and brought up in Boston, Evans stepped into the cinematic arena at the young age of 15, with a role in an educational film, Biodiversity: WIld about life, following which he had several other acting gigs.
It was in 2005, that he landed a role in his first Marvel movie, Fantastic Four, in which he played the role of Johnny Storm, the human torch. The movie and his performance were critically acclaimed. It was his appearance in 2011 as Captain America: The First Avenger that made him popular among the masses, it was followed up by two other parts. He has played a superhero in 10 Marvel films, which ended with his role as Captain America in Avengers Endgame.
After the termination of his contract with Marvel, Evans has been exploring genres and characters, evident from his strikingly different roles in Pixar’s Lightyear, as Buzz Lightyear, and in Netflix’s Gray Man. One cannot but witness his donning various roles and expanding his creative horizon. He will be seen next in Red One, where he would be sharing the screen with Dwyane Johnson.
In many of his recent interviews, Evans opened up about his personal life. Now in his 40s, the actor plans to take a step back to focus on his personal life including marriage and embracing fatherhood, saying ‘that’s absolutely something I want.’ He is quite a guy on social media, known especially for his amicable demeanor and absolutely gentlemanly manner.
Accepting the honor of The Sexiest Man Alive, Evans said “It’s something that as I become old and saggy I can look back on and say ‘I remember then…’” Evans said. “I’m lucky to be in the discussion in any capacity.”
