The 53-year-old actor Anne Heche met with a car accident near her residence in the Mar Vista area in Los Angeles on Friday. Currently, she is in the intensive care unit and has severe burns. Reportedly, the vehicle ran off the road as it was travelling at a high speed and collided with a two-story house, and had driven 30 ft into the building. The house is reported to be damaged completely. Soon after the collision, the house caught fire, engulfing Heche’s car in flames. LA Police Public Information Officer Jeff Lee informed the media about the details on Friday.
She was taken to the hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, who also informed that it took more than an hour and 59 firefighters to extinguish the fire. No other injuries have been reported.
The photos and video footage have also been released by the US media outlet TMZ. In one of the footage, Heche can be seen driving her Mini Clubman at a high speed.
Initially, the Los Angeles Fire Department announced that a female adult was found in the vehicle, but later a source confirmed her identity.
TMZ also informed that Anne Heche was involved in a car accident just a few minutes before the collision.
