Manchester United has revealed their new home kit for the 2023/24 season, which has been created by Adidas for the ninth year in a row. The design, conceptualized by Erik ten Hag’s team, represents the essence of Manchester and draws inspiration from the distinctive red rose associated with Lancashire.
The shirt predominantly features the renowned United red, complemented by black accents on the shoulders. Additionally, it showcases a flat-knit crew neck collar in a striped pattern incorporating red, white, and black.
Adidas has also officially unveiled the new home jersey for Manchester United in the 2023/24 season, drawing inspiration from the industrial heritage of the city. The design reflects the spirit of Manchester, incorporating a geometric pattern featuring the iconic red rose. This pattern is influenced by the bridge connecting Manchester and Salford, which was constructed during the industrial revolution, symbolizing the city’s strong industrial legacy and its global influence.
The kit serves as a tribute to Manchester’s cultural identity and rich history, while also representing the relentless passion and loyalty of the club’s fans. It exemplifies the club’s enduring belief in success and its everlasting commitment. The predominantly red jersey is complemented by a striking geometric pattern, with the club crest and Adidas logo appearing in white on the chest. The design is completed by a striped flat knit crew neck collar, incorporating the club’s signature red, white, and black colors.
The new Manchester United shirt pays tribute to the cities of Manchester and Salford, showcasing elements such as the Lancashire Rose and the iconic bridge from the industrial revolution era that spanned the River Irwell. This design will make its debut in a pre-season friendly against Leeds, featuring the traditional red shirt, white shorts, and black socks.
In terms of sponsorship, the sleeve sponsor on the home shirt remains unchanged from last year, as Manchester United continues its long-term partnership with DXC Technology. The DXC Technology logo will appear on the sleeves of all the club’s kits this season.
Manchester United Home Shirt: Modern Design and Sustainable Manufacturing
The new Manchester United home shirt for the upcoming season features a contemporary zig-zag pattern on the front, shoulders, and sleeves, giving it a more modern appearance compared to the retro-style design of last season’s shirt. Besides, the 2023/24 kit also includes a shield around the club badge, reminiscent of the kit worn during the historic treble-winning 1998/99 campaign.
Further, the new shirt is made from 100% recycled materials, showcasing Adidas’ commitment to sustainability and its ongoing efforts to address the issue of plastic waste.
Fans can also look forward to seeing the new home shirt in action for the very first time when Manchester United takes on Leeds.
