Gujarat will host the 69th Filmfare Awards next year, with the State Government’s Tourism Corporation signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with entertainment and lifestyle company Worldwide Media to host the event and sell and promote the state as a film destination.
Gujarat Will Host the 69th Filmfare Awards Next Year
Gujarat will host the 69th edition of the Filmfare Awards for the first time. The awards honor those who have significantly contributed to technical and artistic excellence in the Hindi Film Industry. The parties in effect signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Saurabh Parghi, MD of Tourism Corporation Gujarat Limited (TCGL), and Deepak Lamba, CEO of Worldwide Media (WWM), signed the MoU on behalf of the state government in the presence of Gujarat’s Chief Minister, Bhupendra Patel, at Gandhinagar.
The government also stated that the Bollywood industry has embraced the 2022 Cinematic Tourism Policy. Gujarat has become their first choice when filming their movies and choosing destinations. Hosting the prestigious Filmfare Awards in 2024 will mark another historical landmark for the state, as it aims to position itself as a prominent film destination.
