The prestigious Filmfare Awards are all set to turn a new leaf. The popular Filmfare Awards, one of India’s most renowned award ceremonies, have made a comeback with a new edition. Gujarat will host the 69th Filmfare Awards next year, with the State Government’s Tourism Corporation signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with entertainment and lifestyle company Worldwide Media to host the event and sell and promote the state as a film destination.
Gujarat Will Host the 69th Filmfare Awards Next Year
Gujarat will host the 69th edition of the Filmfare Awards for the first time. The awards honor those who have significantly contributed to technical and artistic excellence in the Hindi Film Industry. The parties in effect signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Saurabh Parghi, MD of Tourism Corporation Gujarat Limited (TCGL), and Deepak Lamba, CEO of Worldwide Media (WWM), signed the MoU on behalf of the state government in the presence of Gujarat’s Chief Minister, Bhupendra Patel, at Gandhinagar.
The government also stated that the Bollywood industry has embraced the 2022 Cinematic Tourism Policy. Gujarat has become their first choice when filming their movies and choosing destinations. Hosting the prestigious Filmfare Awards in 2024 will mark another historical landmark for the state, as it aims to position itself as a prominent film destination.
Who Were Present at the Signing Ceremony?
Several well-known and high-profile dignitaries were present at the signing ceremony, including Gujarat’s chief minister, Bhupendra Patel, the tourism minister of Gujarat, Mulubhai Bera, the secretary of Gujarat Tourism, Hareet Shukla (IAS), the managing director and the Commissioner of Tourism, Mr. Saurabh Parghi, Managing Director of the Times Group, Vineet Jain, CEO of Worldwide Media Ltd., Deepak Lamba, and Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff.
Tiger Shroff Discusses His Association With the Filmfare Awards
Tiger Shroff, the noted Bollywood actor and son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff, also attended the signing ceremony. He shared his longstanding association with the Filmfare Awards and his special connection with the state of Gujarat. Tiger expressed,

CM Bhupendra Patel remarked that hosting such a prestigious event in Gujarat will not only attract a large number of celebrities, filmmakers, and industry professionals but will also boost tourism and the local economy of the state. He also stated that Gujarati artists and filmmakers will have the opportunity to interact and exchange ideas with professionals from the Indian film industry.
The MD of Times Group, Vineet Jain, also said that the WWM will host the event at the beginning of 2024 in Gujarat.
