‘Layover’ is V’s debut solo album, and it will showcase his different sides and tastes as an artist. The upcoming album is filled with a lot of love and features Yeontan, his pet dog, on the album’s main cover.

Fans of the seven-member group BTS have been patiently waiting and keeping tabs on each member in anticipation of future projects ever since the group announced a hiatus and said that they would be focusing on solo projects. V, who has been hinting at a solo album for months, was the most talked-about member. The long-awaited release of his solo album “Layover” has finally been confirmed, with the announcement coming this morning.

The “Sweet Night” singer kept his fans on the edge of their seats with teases and hints, but this morning, he made their day by announcing the exciting news. Following the announcement, ARMYs flooded the social media platforms with countless messages and tweets.

BigHit announced the news of V’s solo album this morning on Twitter and Weverse. The statement read, 

“Hello. This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We are excited to share more details about the release of BTS member V’s solo album, ‘Layover.’ ‘Layover’ consists of six tracks in total: five tracks and a bonus track. To fully appreciate the album’s flow, we recommend listening to it in sequence from start to finish.”

The ‘ Layover’ Teaser 

Bighit Music posted a preview of the upcoming album on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “From V, ‘Layover’ Release, 23.9.8. 1 PM KST | 0 AM ET.”

Tracklist

There will be a total of six songs in Layover: five tracks and a bonus track. BigHit on Weverse outlined the full track listing as follows:

  1. Rainy Days 
  2. Blue
  3. Love Me Again 
  4. Slow Dancing 
  5. For Us 
  6. Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.)

BigHit, discussing the album in greater depth, said, 

“The music videos for all five tracks will also be revealed. V will showcase amazing new performances and make various appearances alongside the album’s release. Please stay tuned and continue to support V as he embarks on his new solo journey.”

‘Layover’ Pre-Order & Release Date

The pre-order for V’s new album, ‘Layover’ has already begun. ‘Layover’ will drop worldwide on September 8, 2023, at 1 PM KST.

Promotions 

V took to Instagram to share a few photos of his album boxes resting on the stairs. He wrote, 

 “I’m sending them to every house with the desire I want to deliver them to you.”

V also shared the teaser on his Instagram stories. Interestingly, the album is being released on the birthday of V’s dog, Yeontan. Yeontan and V are seen briefly in some of the photo cards and videos.

V previously discussed how he felt about releasing a solo album. He said, 

“I’m nervous but happy. It’s an album that captures my tastes. There will be abundant spectacles. I prepared while thinking that ARMY will be happy, so I hope you can anticipate it. I think you will be able to see a new side of solo artist V that is different from BTS’s V.”

On the work front, the “Inner Child” was last seen in a variety show called ‘Jinny’s Kitchen ‘ along with his Wooga Squad crew, and known actors Park Seo-Joon, and Choi Woo-Shik.
