The most famed and loved show of Indian Television – Shark Tank India began airing on Sony Tv, on December 20, 2021, and completed its first season on 4th February 2022. The show was apparently a huge success and caught a lot of public attention.
The show features a panel of 7 potential investors, called “sharks”, who listen to entrepreneurs pitch ideas for a business or product they wish to develop. These self-made multi-millionaires judge the business concepts pitched and then decide whether to invest their own money to help market and mentor each contestant.
Anupam Mittal, one of the sharks, recently revealed in an Instagram post, the percentage of entrepreneurs who bagged investments from the show. It said-
“67 out of 198 pitches scored deals on the show. 59 [87%] had founders with no IIT/IIM degrees, 45 [67%] had at least one co-founder <25 years, 40 [60%] had never been funded previously, 29 [43%] had at least one woman co-founder, 20 [30%] were from Tier II/III & rural India and 18 [27%] had couples/families as co-founders.”

1. AMAN GUPTA

Aman Gupta is the Co-founder & CMO of boAt that deals in Earphones and headphones. He has, in past, also invested in companies like FREECULTR, Bummer, Skippi Ice Pops, Shiprocket, WickedGud, Anveshan, and 10club. He has a net worth of approximately Rs. 700 crores and has invested Rs. 9.358 crores in 28 deals, in the first season of the show. His support and love towards young entrepreneurs justify why many young people could secure deals from him.
2. PEYUSH BANSAL

CEO and Co-founder of Lenskart, Peyush Bansal and has a net worth of 600 crores. He has been popular among the masses ever since he has made an appearance on the show. Despite the fact that he was not present during the initial weeks, Peyush Bansal managed to invest Rs 8.297 crore in 27 deals.
3. NAMITA THAPAR

Namita Thapar is one of the most successful women entrepreneurs in India, who is the Chief Executive of Emcure Pharmaceuticals. She has been associated with different companies in the USA since 2001, like GlaxoSmithKline, Guidant Corporation in various roles of finance and marketing. As she comes from a healthcare background, she couldn’t relate to many business ideas. But in the first season itself, she invested Rs. 6.383 crore in 22 deals.
4. ASHNEER GROVER

Ashneer Grover is the MD and Co-founder of digital payment platform Bharat Pe who has been in the headlines everywhere since the beginning of the show. People hate and adore him for his style and straightforwardness. Ashneer, has a net worth of about Rs. 700 crores have invested Rs. 5.383 crores in 21 deals.
5. ANUPAM MITTAL

Anupam Mittal is the founder and CEO of the leading matrimonial website in India, Shaadi.com. He is one of the show’s savviest investors and original Internet disruptors who has invested in over 200 companies. With a net worth of Rs. 185 crores, Anupam invested Rs. 4.78 crores in 21 deals during the first season of Shark Tank India.
6. VINEETA SINGH

Vineeta Singh is the Co-Founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics, a makeup selling brand. She has an inspiring story of her own and hugely respects women entrepreneurs. Her net worth is estimated at Rs 300 crore and has invested around Rs 3.042 crore in 15 deals in the first season of Shark Tank India. She made many of her deals with women entrepreneurs.
7. GHAZAL ALAGH

Ghazal Alagh is a Co-Founder and CEO of India’s first toxin-free baby care brand, ‘Mamaearth. She has made the least amount of investment. Her estimated net worth is around 148 crore in Indian rupees and Reportedly in the show, Ghazal invested Rs 1.2 crore in 7 deals.
