Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Trailer: The panels for Disney’s Marvel Studios, which featured significant news in advance of the franchise’s Phase 5 at this year’s Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, began the weekend’s events.
The cast of James Gunn’s third and final film in his MCU trilogy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, joined President and Producer Kevin Feige at the panels, where they finally unveiled the first official trailer to the public.
Phase 5’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Vol. 3, the third and final entry in the GotG trilogy, both had panels on Thursday, and CCXP got right to work. Due to problems with the VFX shots at SDCC in July, Gunn was hesitant to release the teaser to the public, but only a few months later, the filmmaker has, at last, let the public see the first-look trailer for his final Guardians film.
Gamora (Zoe Saldaa), who is now working with the Ravagers, is seen in the trailer trying to explain to Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) why the Gamora he was in love with is no longer present. Like the two before him, Star-Lord loves music dearly, and the soundtrack undoubtedly reflects that.
Gunn chooses Spacehog “In the Meantime” for the trailer as the Guardians embark on their upcoming and last journey. Even before the trailer debuted, we were aware that Vol. 3 would probably be the most emotional installment of the trilogy.
And who is Lylla?
As stated by Fandom, “Rocket Raccoon’s soulmate is a sentient otter named Lady Lylla. She is the heir of Mayhem Mekaniks, the planet Half World’s largest toy manufacturer.”
A summary of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is described as follows by Marvel Studios: “In order to safeguard one of their own, while also defending the cosmos, Peter Quill, who is still in shock after the death of Gamora, must gather his squad.” “It’s a mission that, if unsuccessful, very well might spell the end for the Guardians.”
After the events of Avengers: Infinity War, Quill’s band of brave thieves includes a different Gamora than the one who first fell in love with him in the earlier movies. The upcoming installment will add to the already sad themes by introducing new dangers in the form of Chukwudi Iwuji’s High Evolutionary and Adam Warlock, played by Will Poulter, as well as some tragic backstory for Bradley Cooper’s Rocket Raccoon.
Movie Trailer
Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special debuted exclusively on Disney+ earlier this month as a festive Christmas surprise for fans. The humorous special welcomed actor Kevin Bacon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and gave us scene after scene of Drax and Mantis riffing off one another, but it also had its own surprises.
The big news was dropped by the GotG Holiday Special, which revealed that Mantis is actually Quill’s sister and that Kurt Russell’s Ego is also her father. The Guardians have acquired Knowhere from the Collector (Benicio del Toro), adopted Cosmo the Spacedog (Maria Bakalova), are currently sailing on the Bowie, and Groot (Vin Diesel) has grown significantly since we last saw him.
So buckle up, because Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3—the second film in the MCU’s Phase 5—is scheduled to debut in theaters on May 5, 2023.
