Keto Diet, Calorie Deficit Diet, followed everything still can’t lose weight? Don’t worry, in this article, we will discuss 7 common mistakes which have been adding hurdles to the journey of your weight loss.
1. Skipping Breakfast To Lose Weight
The word break-fast literally means breaking the fast which we’ve been doing since the prior night while we were asleep. Skipping Breakfast may cause an individual to eat more during lunch. In the long run, studies have shown skipping Breakfast can cause Type 2 Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, and cause Cognitive dysfunction.
2. Not eating enough carbs
Carbs have the reputation of being the main cause of weight gain. What we may not be completely aware of is, cutting out carbs affects your energy levels and you end up craving more carbs. With little to no carbs in your body, you have very less energy for working out, thus this makes you avoid workouts.
3. Drinking too little water
Drinking enough water is one of the simplest and most effective ways to lose weight. Water is important for burning calories. Being dehydrated slows down metabolism, which leads to slower weight reduction. Also, people tend to confuse thirst with hunger, causing them to eat more when thirsty. Let’s not forget that drinking less water causes chronic diseases such as CKD (chronic kidney failure). So it’s better to drink a sufficient amount of water.
4. Drinking Fruit Juice To Lose Weight
Juice makes us feel full and the excess calories from juice can cause weight gain. Also, 100% juice from stores has sugar added to improve its taste. Consuming added sugar is unhealthy as it provides empty calories any other nutrients and can lead to weight gain.
5. Depending on the “Crash Diet”
![Want To Lose Weight Quickly? Here's 7 Common Mistakes](https://empireweekly.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Want-To-Lose-Weight-Quickly-Heres-7-Common-Mistakes-1-1024x576.png)
We all may have fallen into the trap of a crash diet that claims to help us lose 10kg in a month or so. A diet that helps you lose weight quickly by eating very little. You reduce your daily calorie intake to less than 1,000, which is sure to lead to rapid weight loss. Eating fewer calories means the body has to work less, which gives your metabolism a good sleep and slows it down. So when you’re done with the diet, you start to gain weight faster and lose slower.
6. Zero Fat/Fat-Free Food
With people becoming more health conscious, we have many products in the market claiming to be “fat-free”, “low calorie” or “baked not fried” edibles. But it is important to check the nutrition facts written at the back of the product which gives us real insight into the amount of other nutrients such as carbs, sugar, sodium, and fat it contains, helping us make an informed decision.
7. Too much protein
Protein is known as an important ingredient for losing weight. Protein has been found to help burn calories even at rest and can help you lose weight. But, consuming too much protein can contribute to body fat. It is recommended to consume no more than 0.36 grams of protein per pound of body weight. People who overeat protein can end up gaining more weight instead of shedding them. Also, let’s not forget that consuming more than the recommended amount of protein can lead to Kidney related issues.
