Dua Lipa is a Famous Female International English singer, songwriter, and model. Her musical career began when she was 14 years old when she began covering other artists’ songs on YouTube. She signed with Warner Music Group in 2015 and released her first single the following year. In December 2016, Fader magazine commissioned See in Blue, a documentary on Lipa. In January 2017, Lipa won the EBBA Public Choice Award. On June 2, 2017, she released her self-titled debut studio album. Seven singles were released from the album, including two UK top-10 songs, “Be the One” and “Idgaf,” as well as the UK number-one single “New Rules,” which also charted at number six in the United States. Lipa received two Brit Awards in 2018: British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act.
Lipa was born in London to Kosovo Albanian parents who had fled Pristina in the 1990s. Before going to Kosovo with her family in 2008, she attended Sylvia Young Theatre School on a part-time basis. Lipa was raised by her father, singer Dukagjin Lipa. Her given name means “love” in Albanian; it was unusual in her adolescence, but she learned to “like” it because it avoided the necessity for a stage name. She began posting renditions of her favorite songs by musicians such as P!nk and Nelly Furtado on YouTube when she was 14 years old. She returned to London at the age of 15 with dreams of becoming a singer. She soon started working as a model. She appeared in a television commercial for The X Factor in 2013.
